A NOTE
Preface
I would like to take a moment to reflect on an excerpt that captures the beliefs at the heart of my practice.
"The art of seeing;
"Drawings need not be entirely accurate. It does not matter if sketches are good or bad, you only have to draw.
Through drawing we make choices. Composition plays a large role in these drawings, leading the eye around the drawing, never resting but pausing at important moments.
Each consecutive sketch, drawing and decision reinforces the initial expression of the idea. Ultimately they are the means to a single end: to translate an idea from mind into matter.
By drawing we begin to understand vernacular forms and how they could be used to resolve contemporary problems.
The more you draw the more fluent you become at translating what is in your mind's eye, and in turn, drawing helps us understand the surrounding world and shape it."
